My tank doesn `t look good, what I can do?
I have a tank of medium sized fish. I have guppies and xifos. I have a boat of some fake plants and blue stones. just doesn `t look good. While live plants? What looks good. I think I might have a back ground, it is worth? Thanks Dan
If you want to work with what we already have (in addition to buying some stuff): You can put the boat in the middle as a centerpiece. Surround it and the tank with different sized rocks large in the back and smaller closer to the front to create depth (in part, cover the bottom of rocks, gravel, not only that they sit in top). Put your fake plants among the rocks and the boat, bigger plants in the back of the tank and the smallest in the front. Try to keep two plants of different colors, green, which is probably more natural and orange, which contrasts well with blue gravel (but you can still use what you already have). Yes, funds they deserve. If I just get a plain background black or dark blue colors will make your fish jumping. But it's up to you. So if you have not actually have a light for your tank. This will make a big difference. ------ Check out some photos of the designs inside the aquarium on the web and in books. I have a fabulous book called The Aquarium Inspired waterscape filled with ideas, my favorite for fresh water is on page 55 and 60 (if you happen to browse it in a bookstore.) Also try visit this website for some ideas: http://www.ratemyfishtank.com/topmonth.php/s_2 of live plants to look good for a longer period of time, really special need gravel to help grow and proper lighting full spectrum. But you can always give it a shot, just know that you may have to replace plants a few weeks to a month or so. Hope that helps.
